Platform Availability

Will Hytale be on Steam?

No, not initially. Hypixel Studios wants to focus on working with the community and improving the game during early access rather than dealing with potentially uninformed negative reviews.

Steam is a marketing tool Hypixel might never need. This doesn't mean Hytale will never come to Steam - just that it's not necessary for early access launch.

Current Plan: Direct purchase from official website

Is there a console version of Hytale?

No console version for early access. Hytale launches on PC only (Windows confirmed, Mac and Linux still TBD).

Console releases are planned for later but require significant backend work. Hypixel's priority is making a good PC game first, then expanding to consoles.

Features and Content

Will Hytale have pets and animal taming?

Yes, but not at early access launch. Pet and taming systems are planned features but aren't ready yet.

These will be added during the early access period as development continues.

Is there fishing on release?

No, not yet. The fishing system is still being designed. The team wants an interesting fishing mechanic rather than rushing a basic implementation.

Fishing will come in a future early access update once the design meets quality standards.

Will there be voice proximity chat?

Not at early access launch. Proximity voice chat is close to working but won't be ready for January 13, 2026.

Can I purchase cosmetics to support development?

• Third-party servers can sell cosmetics for their server only
• Servers should continue supporting official cosmetics

Future Possibility: Successful artists might sell work through official in-game store. This is a long-term goal, not an immediate plan.

Do third-party servers pay Hypixel?

0% for first 2 years. Hypixel takes no cut from third-party servers or modders monetizing their work for the first two years.

After 2 Years:

• Maximum cut will never exceed 20%
• Actual percentage depends on many factors

Community Features

Can I gift Hytale?

Not yet, but coming. Gifting feature isn't implemented but is in development.

Will the game be in my language?

English only at launch. Hytale is built with localization in mind, but other languages aren't ready for early access.

How does username squatting work?

Legitimate Use: If you genuinely want a specific username for yourself, that's fine. Squatting for profit gets your names taken away.

Can I support my favorite content creator?

Yes, through creator codes. If a creator participates in the Creator Program, you can use their code at checkout.

Using a creator code doesn't give you direct benefits, but supports the creator financially, allowing them to produce more content.

Who can join the Creator Program?

Anyone creating Hytale content regularly. This includes:

• Music producers
• Modders
